The Mayhew Inn is located in the heart of downtown Grand Marais. The views of the harbor and bluffs along The Gunflint Trail are incomparable and are visible from the expansive rooftop decks. The Mayhew Inn is the perfect homebase for enjoying the restaurants and shops in downtown Grand Marais and are all within walking distance. Enjoy day trips to Lutsen Mountain, National Parks for hiking or cross-country skiing, or up The Gunflint Trail. All are a short drive from The Mayhew Inn.

​The 6 individual units that make up The Mayhew Inn are uniquely designed and built to be modular. Add to that common spaces that can be shared with larger groups or experienced alone. The Lobby has a cozy fireplace, comfy seating for lounging, and a non-production bar with an icemaker for guests to enjoy. Entertainment opportunities in The Lobby include games for all ages, a turntable with vinyl from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond as well as a large screen TV. The "Dragon Lounge" faces a majestic outdoor fireplace with a brick pizza oven. This cozy lounge is the perfect place for happy hour or a memorable nightcap.

​Staff is always available, but we stay out of your way. We're a mix of Airb&b style, with the added amenities of a boutique hotel. If you need your room to be cleaned, we'll be there to clean it. If you need more towels, soaps, shampoos or coffee we'll bring it to you. But we don't look over your shoulder, we let you do your thing.
