About

Education. Recreation. Conservation.

The Northland Arboretum is a member-supported nonprofit
organization aimed at connecting our community to nature and protecting our
natural environment. We are conveniently located in the middle of
Brainerd/Baxter, Minnesota with plenty of natural space to explore.

Open dawn to dusk seven days a week to offer respite to
residents and visitors. Sit in the gazebo, linger on the bridge, stroll along a
path or wind through the winter woods on skis—whether you have an hour or a
day, tranquility will surely enhance your visit.

There are many magnificent gardens to view as well as a
mosaic of habitats including grasslands and restored prairie, wetlands, a
stream, shrub bog and of special importance, a 200-acre jack pine savanna. As
you stroll the grounds the songbirds will make it easy to see why this oasis in
the midst of city has been designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA).

Winter:

19 km track set, 10.0 km skate-ski, 5 km lighted night trail. Mostly
intermediate level trails.

Ski pass required. Parking fee. Ski
trails groomed by Brainerd Nordic Ski Club.

Snowshoe rental available at Visitor
