About

One of the most unique lodging experiences you will find along Lake Superior's North Shore or near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Superior Hiking Trail! We are open year 'round!

The Points Unknown Guest Suite is located within our off-grid (modern) homestead, in Minnesota’s remote north woods, 35 minutes northeast of Grand Marais. Our Tiny Amish-Crafted Log Cabins are just down from the main homestead. Use our lodging as your home base for adventure or immerse yourself in our lifestyle with sled dogs. Sled Dog Cuddles included!

We are located 7 miles from the conventional grid. Our energy comes from 16 solar panels mounted on the roof of our homestead. We have 24 batteries in which this solar energy is stored. On cloudy days, we have a propane generator that produces the energy used and stored. Propane, having a by-product of water, lessens our carbon footprint.

We also offer Mindful Paddling & Hiking Guide Services, Fall wheeled tours with the sled dogs and Dog Sledding in the winter!

Located 7 miles up the Arrowhead Trail on Irish Creek Road in Hovland, we are just a 35 minute drive to Grand Marais and Grand Portage.
