About

The Museum grounds consist of six buildings:
The Main Museum has exhibits on Bird Island, Minnesota and the old Village of Eddsville; Renville County in World War I; the beginnings of Renville County; buffaloes; Joseph R. Brown; Fort Ridgely artifacts and the Research Library.
The Research Library has surname files on Renville County residents, all the Renville County area newspapers on microfilm up to 2009 and current newspapers and much more.

Norfolk Schoolhouse #36 was the original Museum and now is a special exhibit hall to open summer 2019

Norfolk Schoolhouse #28 is just like the country schools of the past.

The Machine Shed houses many farm implements and Renville County business signs.

The Heritage Building was built over the 1869 Lerud Log Cabin. The Lerud family built this cabin on Section 28 of Sacred Heart Township. Exhibits include a general store, newspaper equipment and photography equipment. Also stored in the building is the Enestvedt 1914 Model T Roadster and the Fluke 1927 Dodge 4-Door Sedan. These vehicles are used for parades and special events!
1879 schoolhouse; exhibits on pioneer life, Dakota history and wildlife; displays honoring Joseph Renville, early fur trader and scout, and Michael Dowling, educator and politician. Area churches, toys and games. Local disasters.

June, July & August:
Monday – Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM.
