Rochester Public Music

About

Rochester Public Music has been the City of Rochester's Music Department since 1936

Our events include Riverside Music Series, FORWARD Park Concerts, Passport Sessions and Sound School. From internationally touring stars to up-and-coming local acts, we support live music in Minnesota with free, all-ages programing for children and adults.

Riverside Music Series has been featuring must-see national acts and standout local opening artists for over 30 years. These free, un-ticketed outdoor music events are held on five consecutive Sunday evenings in downtown Rochester, Minnesota along the Zumbro River. Stellar music, gorgeous green space, local food vendors, arts activities and fun giveaways make them the perfect antidote to the Sunday Scaries.

FORWARD Park Concerts were established in 2019 to bring more live music and community fun to every region of the city. These free, Wednesday evening concerts highlight local bands and regional headliners and are held in six different walkable, pet friendly, and bike trail connected parks - one in each City ward. Local food trucks, craft beer, the bookmobile and outdoor games from Parks and Recreation make these welcoming summer events for all.

Passport Sessions and Sound School bring a wide variety of cultures and traditions to Rochester to perform for local elementary schools and the public.
