Located on the shore of scenic Lake Bemidji, Ruttger’s historic roots give you a look into the past, while renovations keep things refined. Whether you’re looking for peace and tranquility or an adventurous lake vacation, Ruttger’s has accommodations and activities for everyone!

Fully submerse yourself in the outdoors with rustic lakefront cottages and cabins, or enjoy gorgeous lake views from a Loft Kitchenette or romantic Whirlpool Suite in Cedar Lodge. Remodeled in 2019, the Main Lodge features modern hotel rooms and suites, as well as authentic phone booths and other Ruttger’s memorabilia.

With half a mile of sandy beach, Ruttger’s vast amenities include a restaurant, lounge, rooftop bar, indoor pool & gym complex, and a marina. Kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, and paddleboards are free for resort guests. Motorized boats, including ski boats, pontoons, and fishing boats can be rented for an additional fee.

Ruttger’s is close in proximity to several golf courses, as well as Lake Bemidji State Park. Managed for walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and muskellunge, Lake Bemidji is well known for its excellent fishing throughout all seasons. Black crappie, bluegill, burbot, hybrid sunfish, and largemouth bass are also prevalent.

During the winter months, snowmobile trails are accessible from Ruttger’s itself. Bemidji is also home to numerous cross country and Nordic ski trails, as well as Buena Vista Ski Area.

Ruttger’s Lakeside Dining room offers a wide array of locally sourced foods. Their menu boasts an array of traditional pastas, tantalizing burgers, sandwiches, and garden-fresh salads. Served after 4 PM, Ruttger’s dinner entrees feature freshly prepared steaks and seafood – Including Red Lake Walleye and local wild rice!

In the Cove Lounge, a custom-built wooden bar offers an inviting and fun atmosphere, while tables allow for sit-down style dinners or drinks. Ruttger’s experienced bartenders can suit all tastes; Seasonal cocktail menus featuring balanced drinks made with house-made syrups are available year-round. With 12 beers on tap and seasonal rotations, an extensive wine list, and a private cellar, if you’re into wine or beer, Ruttger’s has you covered.

A limited food and drink menu is available seasonally on the lakeside Roof Top Bar.
