This 24-acre park, located in rich farm country, is on the west shore of South Heron Lake. Heron lake is a very unique body of water totaling over 8,000 acres which provides on of the best waterfowl production areas in the state, as well as many recreational opportunities. The park provides an excellent area to observe shore birds, white pelicans, Canadian geese, and many other species of waterfowl. To enhance the attractiveness of the park to birds and waterfowl, over 2,000 food-producing trees and shrubs have been planted, and a wildlife pond is on the west end of the park. An observation tower was constructed to increase the quality of waterfowl observation. This park can be used for field sports and volleyball.
