Stearns History Museum

About

The Stearns History Museum and its Research Center connect people to the power of history and culture by collecting, preserving and interpreting its historical resources.

It is a place where Central MN citizens honor their diverse history and recognize that the past is relevant to the present and a road map to the future.

It has a two-level exhibit gallery that is handicapped accessible and a gallery theater with six video presentations. There's also a hands-on Children's Room and Museum Store.

In addition, its Research Center has more than 20,000 family history files, county newspapers on microfilm and copies of county, state and federal records, including birth, death and marriage indexes, census records and naturalization papers. There are more than 500,000 photographic images and 1,900 oral histories.
