Sunset Lodge is located on Oak Island in the Northwest Angle of Lake of the Woods and offers a year-round paradise for vacationers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The Lodge’s convenient fishing boat, ice house rentals and guides add to the enjoyment of the area’s fantastic fishing.
The resort features a new lodge with full bar and restaurant; AC units, free WiFi and DirecTV on HD TV’s throughout the lodge, cabins and condos. Private banquet/meeting room for groups up to 50, new fish cleaning facility, heated for the winter and AC for the summer as well as a new break water that protects your boat or plane at our private dock!

This full-service fishing resort on Oak Island, MN offers 1- 3 bedroom cabins and condos with panoramic views of Sunset Bay and a brand new lodge features a bar & restaurant. The Lodge’s convenient fish house rentals and guides add to the enjoyment of the area’s fantastic ice fishing.

The ice fishing take around Oak Island consists of walleye, saugers, northern pike, eel pout, jumbo perch, tullibee, whitefish AND crappies! Our private Bombardiers and Rangers are available to warmly and safely transport you to and fro your ice fishing house. We move our houses throughout the season, daily if needed, to keep you on the fish. You will find our fish houses warm, holes pre-drilled and bait is provided! We also have heated outhouses available on the ice.

In the winter months, Sunset Lodge is accessible by car on plowed roads from either Young’s Bay at the Northwest Angle directly to our front door. You can also come by snowmobile from either Young’s Bay or the south shore of the Lake of the Woods. (We can arrange a shuttle service from the south shore.)

Sunset Lodge on Oak Island features a brand new lodge with a full bar and restaurant open to guests and to the public. Join us for mouth watering food and a magnificent view of Sunset Bay. The Sunset Burger (a bacon cheeseburger topped with green chili sauce and a fried over-easy egg served with fries) is a local favorite! Our menu is full of delicious appetizers, burgers, chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, main entrees, breakfasts; all served in generous portion sizes - you will NOT leave the lodge hungry. Come by boat, snowmobile or car...we are happy to have you!
