Timber Bay Lodge and Houseboats is your year round classic Minnesota resort. Full of traditions. Perfect for your getaway. Enjoy being right on the water of Birch Lake in Northern Minnesota. Stay in either one of our 14 full furnished cabins, or in one of our 13 houseboats. All houseboats come with a full kitchen, pillows and blankets as well as a BBQ grill and deck furniture. A pickleball court on site, free for guest use! Birch Lake is 20 miles long with 85% undeveloped forest service land allowing you to be the captain of your own vacation and explore the Superior National Forest surrounding you. Located only 15 minutes from Ely, MN you have access to some of the best "Up North" museums and tours around! 
Looking to hold a family reunion? Girls getaway? Retreat? Check out our two large reunion cabins-The Bear Trap and The Bent Paddle. Lots of space to enjoy your family.
This family friendly resort provides an ideal location for fishing, biking, hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. Timber Bay has access to miles of 4 wheeling/off road trails as well as some world class golf courses within a short driving distance. Great place to set up camp for grouse or bear hunting season as well!

If you're looking for a winter vacation, we have spectacular cross country ski trails or snowmobile trails starting right on resort property. Ice fish steps from your cabin door!
