About

Without a doubt, this is the best place in North America to observe and photograph wild black bears!

Operated by The American Bear Association, the Sanctuary is comprised of many habitats: aspen forests, cedar swamps, marshes, beaver ponds, a primary stream, and meadows.

Visitors observe and learn about the elusive black bear from naturalists that answer questions and explain bear behavior as it happens. Our raised observation deck gives visitors a 360 degree view of forest and meadow.

Dates

Open Tuesday through Sunday; closed Mondays ; Visitors may arrive between 5pm-8pm and stay on the viewing deck until dusk. Please note that because of our open viewing deck, the sanctuary must close during inclement weather.

Rates

Adults (18-64): $12, Seniors (65+): $10, Youth (ages 4-17): $5, 3 and under: Free
