From St. Paul, take Hwy 36E to 4th Street/Osgood Ave. Turn left (North). Go one mile-the courthouse is on your right between Walnut St and Pine St. Park in the lot next to the building off of 4th Street.

About

Commanding a view of Stillwater and the St Croix Valley, the Washington County Historic Courthouse has served its community since 1870. As the oldest standing courthouse in the state the courthouse portrays the substance and elegance of a bygone era. Now a Washington County Park, the Historic Courthouse offers guided and self-guided tours, activities for families, educational programming for the public, schools, and scouts, as well as private meeting and event space. Tours include courtroom, jail, and history exhibits.

Public Hours & Tour Schedule:

Public Hours/Self-guided tours are offered daily, Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm and Sat-Sun 10am-4:30pm
FREE Guided Tours are offered Saturdays at 1 p.m.

Donations are accepted for the Historic Courthouse Restoration Fund.

Group tours are available by appointment with a suggested per person donation. Perfect for a work team building activity, community education, scouts, schools, etc. Please contact us for more details.

Dates

Self-guided tours Mon-Fri 9am-4:00pm, Sat-Sun 10am-4:30pm. Guided tours on Saturday at 1pm. Group tours by appointment.
