Zambonis on 7th

About

The story of our beautiful, brand-new restaurant in this grand old building begins in 1933 when George Awada, Greg Awada's grandfather, applied and was granted one of the very first liquor licenses in St. Paul after the Prohibition ended. Through many decades and many addresses, George Awada and his descendants have had a stake in the bar and restaurant business in St. Paul.

Fast forward to now...Greg and his wife, Kristi, had operated Zamboni's Pizza Pub, a tiny hole in the wall pizzeria just next to the new location since 2011. When the bigger space next door became available, they approached the landlord with longtime friend and legendary restauranteur, Tim Mahoney, and struck a deal.

From there it was simply crafting the space and melding menus from Zamboni's and Tim's popular Loon Cafe to create an inviting space with delicious offerings. The menu features fan favorites from Zamboni's including our beloved gyros, garlic bomb steak sandwiches, and pizzas as well as staples from the Loon Cafe like their award winning Pecos River Red Chili and the 8-ball chicken sandwich.

The gorgeous new space is a sprawling Sports Restaurant and Bar with TVs, 4 separate bars, 6 separate dining areas (hello, banquets!) and room to accommodate over 300 guests. We look forward to serving you and yours. Cheers!
