Manitou Days

Manitou Days is a three-week summer festival showcasing the great lakeside community of White Bear Lake. For 50+ years this annual summer ritual has been a favorite of locals and visitors. This year’s theme is “All Bears Unite”.

The fun kicks-off with Marketfest and ends on the Fourth of July with a spectacular fireworks display to music over the lake. Festival highlights include the Grande Parade, the Beach Dance, Medallion Hunt, Kiddie Parade, Community Garage Sale, and more.

Wagner Park Campground

Located just off Minnesota State Highway 34, one-half mile from I-94 exit and near scenic Whisky Creek, Wagner Park features 42 camping sites with full hook-ups including water, electricity and sewer. There is also an area for another 25 primitive sites for tent camping.

Reif Repertory Theater: Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors is a non-stop blast, sci-fi horror comedy, love story and doo-wop and rock musical that has become one of the most treasured pieces of American musical theatre. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics and book by Howard Ashman, Little Shop pays homage to doo-wop and Motown recordings. The story follows a luckless florist shop worker, Seymour, who raises a wisecracking carnivorous plant – Audrey II – that must feed on human blood.

What Does it Mean to be Indigenous Poets Laureate?

Minnesota Poet Laureate Gwen Nell Westerman, Minneapolis Inaugural Poet Laureate Heid E. Erdrich, and former Poet Laureate of Wisconsin Kimberly Blaeser consider the honor, role, and responsibility from their Indigenous perspectives. The three Poets Laureate will be interviewed by Melissa Olson, MPR reporter.
