I Want My MTV - Totally '80s

The ’80s had it all! Rock, pop, heavy metal and new wave all dominating the air waves – plus, it was also the beginning of the video age! The Fabulous Armadillos are going retro and raising the fun factor 1.21 gigawatts! They will surely have a rad playlist of tunes, humor and video in this theme and we are inviting you to wear your totally awesome ’80s wardrobe or “come as you are” and try and forget that 1980 was actually 43 years ago. Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides

Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and a self-guided tour at Historic Forestville!

Rides are provided by Doubletree Carriage Co. and will last 30 minutes.

While you wait for your ride, feel free to enjoy a new self-guided activity around the historic site, play lawn games, or buy an ice cream treat in the visitor center.

Guided Hike of the Forestville Ruins

The original footprint of the town of Forestville extended throughout the state park. In this guided tour, go beyond Main Street to explore more of Forestville's past, including the the remains of the first schoolhouse, John Gill's brickyard, and the Robert M. Foster house, one of only two remaining homes from the town of Forestville.

The hike is about 1 mile long on uneven ground. Guests check in at the Historic Forestville Visitor Center. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Disasters on the Riverfront Walking Tour

Explore the various disasters that accompanied the industrialization and development of the Mississippi Riverfront. This guided tour offers visitors a look at the unintended consequences brought on by the transformation of the riverfront into the flour milling capital of the world. The tour includes about 2 miles of moderate-paced walking with several stops. Topics discussed will include industrial accidents, deindustrialization, and the impact of the milling industry on the natural landscape.
