Green Acres Recreation - Snow Tubing

Green Acres has an open hill and not tubing lanes and the snow tubes all end up in a common run-out area at various speeds.

Tubers should be a minimum height of 42 inches or taller.  Green Acres does not recommend tubers under 42 inches to go tubing. Only one person per tube is allowed at all times, ​unless you have a child under 42 inches tall it is highly recommended to ride with a parent/guardian at all times.

Weekend Hours:

On Fridays, a three-hour session is available.

Two-hour session start times for Saturday and Sunday.

Brookside Park

Brookside Park features the following amenities:

Robbins Island Regional Park

Robbins Island Regional Park is Willmar's largest park. At 55 acres in size, this recreational area is surrounded by Willmar Lake and Foot Lake. With its rolling hills forested by oak trees and trails that wind through the park, Robbins Island is a spacious destination with vast green space, a sandy beach, and shelters available for rent.

Red Cow- Uptown

Providing a sophisticated twist on the classic neighborhood tavern, Red Cow celebrates finely crafted eats and drinks with a focus on gourmet burgers, craft beers, and fine wine.

Winter Expedition

Load up the kicksleds with supplies and head down the trail for an outdoor adventure! Look and listen for wildlife as you start a fire to stay warm and cook toasty treats. Winter can be cold, but there’s still plenty to enjoy in the outdoors.

Vergas Small Town Christmas

Join us all around town for a small town Christmas in Vergas! Snowshoeing at Historic Fort Snelling

There's no better way to embrace winter than by taking a leisurely snowshoe walk through the various landscapes at Historic Fort Snelling.

Along our half-mile route, we'll make stops to enjoy the view and hear from our knowledgeable staff about how winter conditions were faced by the peoples of the region going back thousands of years.

Warm up with a free hot beverage and by spending time in the Visitor Center (included in your ticket). The tour will last one hour.

Outdoor Adventures

Send your 3-5 grader to Dodge Nature Center's Shepard Farm property in Cottage Grove for a day of science in the snow! Hike the woods to discover the secret lives of Minnesota’s wintering animals. Make your own tracks with our kicksleds and snowshoes. See if you have what it takes to survive winter conditions by practicing your fire building and campfire cooking skills. Screens off, snow clothes on!

This program offers a day of outdoor learning for SoWashCo students who have no school due to a districtwide professional development day.
