Andrew Walesch & His Orchestra

Andrew has loved Tony Bennett since he was a kid. He spent countless hours studying Tony’s phrasing, discography, and overall musical approach. When he was sixteen, he started traveling far and wide to see Tony as many times as possible. (He saw Bennett in concert sixteen times.) All this would culminate one fateful afternoon in 2017 when Walesch encountered Bennett while walking on 57th Street in Manhattan. This chance meeting turned into a forty-five-minute-long conversation over dinner. Here, Bennett took Andrew on a chronological journey through his career, in his own words.

Sophia Shorai & Tommy Barbarella

Sophia Shorai, a contemporary jazz vocalist and singer/songwriter, has been a mainstay on the Twin Cities music scene since 2004. Born in Bindura, Zimbabwe (hence, her middle name Shorai), she began classical piano and voice training at age five. She spent her early childhood mimicking the voices and instrumentation of jazz legends in her father’s record collection. Then, this gave rise to exploring the Golden Age of standards in her early teens.
