Tjärnblom, Swedish for "woodland lake flower", is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello. They travel a modern "Snoose Boulevard Highway" in their musical journey, playing a repertoire of both old and new Swedish, Finnish, Minnesotan and original tunes for dancing and for listening. They’ve performed across the Midwest, and have appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion show.

Catherine Glynn’s A.R.T. (Audacious Raw Theater) and Lanesboro Arts proudly present Audacious Raw Theater Year 8: There is a Field on Saturday, July 6th. Starting at 7 pm at Gateway Park, seven or more newly devised dramatic works will be revealed in A.R.T.’s typically raw and wonderful fashion. This year’s works center on Parenthood, Procreation, and Reproductive Justice and will feature Katie Berger Wood, Eric Decker, Juliana Frick, Hannah Gaff, Catherine Glynn, Nicholette Routhier, Hilary Williams, and Jerome York.
This annual event commemorates the sinking of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald and the total loss of the 29 crew members aboard on November 10, 1975. It is also a time to reflect on the memory of all lives lost on the Great Lakes.
The lighthouse, fog signal building, and visitor center will be open for visitors. Guides will welcome visitors and provide historic site and shipwreck information. Throughout the day, visitors can watch a film about Edmund Fitzgerald in the visitor center, or join a guided tour exploring the history of Fitzgerald's final voyage.
