Sitting in the sun on the spacious front porch of a 1915 school house meticulously restored in the traditional Norwegian style, or sitting outside in the evening around a roaring fire – always among friends. That is one way to describe the annual gathering of the spoon carvers each June in Milan.
West Duluth's Spirit Valley Days celebration features live entertainment, food and artisan vendors daily. Plus, the Northland's largest car show on Wednesday; Duluth's largest parade on Thursday; traditional Friday night Street Dance; Run Like an Animal 5K run/walk, Western Garden Tour, and Family Day on Saturday. All events held in the Spirit Valley area of West Duluth.
The 39th annual Spicer WinterFest is almost here. There are lots of great events planned between January 20th – February 11th, 2024, including the WinterFest family fun day and fireworks, the 5th annual WinterFest Dance featuring Fat City All-Stars, and so much more.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of solid ice on Green Lake, there won't be an ice castle this year. Other events cancelled due to lack of ice: Central MN Pond Racing, Spicer Speed Run, and the Ice Carving Contest.
Check out the poster or our events calendar for details on all of the other fun events.
Spicer's fourth of July celebration is "One of the Best in the Area." There are activities for all ages, all day long. Besides an arts and crafts fair with an amusing flea market, everyone will be enjoying a basketball tournament, kiddie parade, kids pedal pull, a competitive 12-mile running race and, of course, all the water fun you could ask for! The street dance near Pirrotta Park features Belladiva and is family friendly. On the fourth, the Grand Day parade, including over 100 participants with lots of entertainment and candy starts at 10am!

Can the same be said of our physical bodies? Despite technology’s ever-quickening pace, we are still inextricably bound to the flesh-and-blood of the human body that we as a species have inhabited for thousands of years.

The SPCO brings core chamber music repertoire to Icehouse’s modern industrial chic space, a Twin Cities musical hot spot that hosts a wide variety of music. Mozart’s trio was written while the clarinet was still a relatively new instrument and was first performed by his friend, the early clarinet pioneer Anton Stadler.
