MusicMakers with Osmo Vanska and the Minnesota Orchestra

The culmination of the Orchestra's 17th annual Composer Institute, this performance features the music of some of the country's most gifted young composers, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the craft of music-making through onstage interviews with each composer.

Join us for a noon-hour break of guided meditation and live music that explores the nature of awareness with Minnesota Orchestra violist Sam Bergman and University of Minnesota mindfulness faculty member Mariann Johnson.

Detroit Mountain's biggest fundraising event of the year. Join us for a summer evening along with an impressive set by a top performing country act. Come early and enjoy a the areas best specialty food trucks.

Music in the Park

Music in the Park is located at the Glenwood City Park, across from beautiful Lake Minnewaska. Enjoy a free evening of music. Each concert will feature a different musical group. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the evening.

The OTBCA will be sponsoring along with many Ottertail businesses the Music in the Park Series which is held twice a month on a Tuesday. The line up is being put together and will be published soon. These are free to the public, just bring a chair and some friends and sit back, relax and enjoy the music.. Refreshments will be available with all moneys collected going to scholarships for area high school seniors.

Music History Trivia

Join host Ryan Cameron of Let It Be Records and special guests from the Twin Cities music scene for Music History Trivia. Music nerds and novices looking for a challenge can team up for rounds of trivia with clues that include audio, photo, and video clips.

Trivia nights will be held once a month in January, February, and March. Each night the top three teams will win prizes, such as tickets to First Avenue shows. Returning teams can compete for a grand prize.

We don't always understand why our brains enjoy music and art, but the way we process music - and the mental gymnastics great composers go through to create it - can tell us a lot about our own humanity.
