History Storytimes are FREE to the Public

Join the Dakota County Historical Society and the South St. Paul Public Library for this history read aloud. The event is for ages 0 - 5, though older children are welcome to attend with their siblings, friends and guardians.

The children's librarian will read aloud the books chosen for this week. Afterward, children will see pictures, newspaper articles, and artifacts of Dakota County's history that relate to the book's theme. Children will also participate in a hands-on activity related to the book's themes.

Highway 10 Baseball Classic

The Highway 10 Baseball Classic, in partnership with the Christopher Benz Foundation, utilizes the favorite American pastime of baseball to bring communities together for the prevention of suicide in our youth by providing suicide education, awareness and prevention grants to schools and by using the tournament to provide the education in a fun venue. All are welcome!

HermannFest

Join us for a celebration at Hermann the German! The party is held at Hermann Heights Park (10 Monument St.) in the shadow of the 102-foot monument, and below in Harman Park (101 North Garden St.).

Dance to live German music throughout the day, snack on some German and American food, and refresh with Schell’s beer and 1919 Root Beer – on tap all day! Festivities begin at 11:30am.

Heritage Days

The event is known as Heritage Days and it promises to be a fun-filled weekend for the entire family. The activities provide entertainment for people of all ages and interests, including: a one-room school house, a restored prairie farm house, a 500 horse-power Fairbanks-Morse engine, a chapel, a blacksmith shop, seed cleaning and processing facility, tractor displays, gas engine displays, daily tractor parade, great food in the Threshers’ Kitchen, garden and large tractor pulls, and much more.

Here Comes Santa Claus

All is merry and bright when Santa Claus comes this night! Here Comes Santa Claus—downtown Rochester’s most beloved holiday tradition—features a "Warming House," live musical entertainment, "Santa's Elves' Workshop," appearances by Santa & Mrs. Claus, the daring Santa rescue atop Old City Hall, and tree lighting ceremony. Santa Claus coming to downtown Rochester is a real holiday treat that free family fun!
