Federweisser Festival and Art Fair

The grape harvest is now over and the new wines are quietly maturing in our stainless steel tanks. During this special weekend, Winehaven will be embracing the German tradition of allowing guests to sample the new wine. It isn't juice anymore, but it isn't quite wine, either. Whatever it is, it's delicious!

Nine fabulous artists will also be bringing their talents together for this Special Event. Their art will both be displayed and available for purchase.

February’s featured artists invite you to bring your love of pottery onto your table full-time. Regardless of what what you eat, take the time to design how your meal is served. Do you prefer the warm hues, designed to evolve and carry memory, of Beck’s wood-fired pots? Perhaps you crave the subtle soda-fired surface playing off of the strong forms and thoughtful textures of Kelleher’s pots. It may be that you’re drawn to the alluring clash of history, imagination, and elegant function of Swenson’s offerings.

Fasching

Fasching is an old carnival tradition that originated in the European Alps to chase away winter. Each year, strips of cloth are strung across downtown streets in the German peasant tradition, and the “Narren,” masked characters in colorful costumes, walk the streets inviting people to the party. Held at the Best Western Plus, Fasching includes music, food and dancing, and costumes are encouraged. It's sponsored by The Concord Singers and since 2006 it has expanded to include "Capture the Mayor" on Friday by "The Narren".
