Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds

Welcome to the annual Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds! Whether you’re a beginner or experienced birder, or somewhere in between, the Festival of Birds has something for you! Detroit Lakes is located in a unique merging of three biomes – tallgrass prairie, hardwood and conifer forests with a landscape peppered with lakes and wetlands. The Detroit Lakes area is a migration hotspot with more than 250 species of birds! Our festival goal is to provide you with a quality birding experience.

Drive your vintage vehicle to scenic Detroit Lakes on a warm, summer evening. Let the gentle breeze tousle through your hair as you renew acquaintances and meet new friends while perusing the collection of restored vehicles. Stop by one of our lakeside eateries to satisfy your appetite and quench your thirst.

Detroit Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show

Open to the public, come browse boats from 1995 and earlier. Land and water display by Little Detroit Lake by the mile-long beach. Powerboat Races down the beach same day from Noon-4 pm. Free admission.

Dent Fiesta Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser includes a taco dinner (free will offering), a large raffle drawing and on-site raffles.
Kids are welcome - a pinata party happens at 6pm.

December 2019 Exhibits + Events: The Northern Spirit Shop and Morgan Mercer

MacRostie Art Center is pleased to announce the grand opening of its 2019 Holiday Marketplace. Starting the weekend after Thanksgiving and continuing through December 24th, the MacRostie Gallery is transformed into unique local shopping experience. Our Northern Spirit Shop is annual exhibition that celebrates the diverse and talented artists that live and work in northern Minnesota.
