RODNEY AND HELEN - AN EXTRAORDINARY DUO!

The Minnesota Sinfonia’s 35th Winter Season starts on October 20th-22nd joined by Rodney Marsalis, award-winning trumpeter, and virtuoso violinist Helen Chang Haertzen. Together with the Sinfonia, they will craft a delightful presentation of the ‘Concerto for Trumpet and Violin in D Major’, Johann Sebastian Bach’s adaptation of Vivaldi. Admission is free, children are welcome and their attendance is encouraged – we hope to see you there along with your family and friends!

This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! This is Jane Austen with dance breaks! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. University of Minnesota BA Theatre Arts Program students bring the beloved tale of Elizabeth Bennet to the stage, telling the story of the constraints of marriage and the effects it may have on women’s autonomy.

"Lest We Forget" Gallery Exhibit Opening

Join us for the opening reception of Lest We Forget, a collaborative art exhibit by Sandra A. Brick and Fred M.B. Amram. Two artists, Sandra A. Brick and Holocaust survivor, Fred M.B. Amram, explore a Jewish young man's coming-of-age story. Located on the 3rd Floor Exhibit Gallery at the Minnesota State Capitol Exhibit will be on view from November 1, 2023–February 29, 2024. Lest We Forget is a touring collection of twenty-four 3D multimedia works of art with short literary vignettes.

Historic Mayowood Holiday Tour

Christmas cheer has arrived at Mayowood for a winter wonderland of history, glitz and glamour! See the Historic Mayowood Mansion transformed into a 2023 Christmas extravaganza by community volunteers. This year's decorating theme is Sing a Song of the Holidays! An annual tradition friends and family will enjoy! Tours start at Mayowood.

First Saturday Guided Tour

First Saturday Guided Tours are guided tours on the first Saturday of each month that are included with the cost of admission. First Saturday Guided Tours begin at 11:00 a.m. and are available on a first come, first served basis with a capacity of 15 people.

Chicago - High School Edition

Chicago: High School Edition is a specially adapted version of the classic musical that maintains the plot, score and styled dance choreography, and has been adapted so that high school audience members and the community can attend this lively and intriguing spectacle. Chicago is set in the Roaring Twenties and features aspiring chorus girl Roxie Hart and fading vaudeville star Velma Kelly as they each face trial for murder as they vie for the assistance of shady lawyer Billy Flynn.
