Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet with the Minnesota Orchestra

Smetana, Prokofiev, two thrilling debuts and a Minnesota Orchestra first all at once! Conductor Ruth Reinhardt and saxophonist Steven Banks make their debuts with the Orchestra to showcase Billy Childs’ recently premiered Diaspora, a concerto for saxophone and orchestra. The work co-commissioned by the Orchestra highlights Black experiences in America. Then: romance, drama and intrigue capture the evening with a suite from Prokofiev’s gripping ballet score.

Mayor Humphrey: 75 Years Later

Join award-winning author Samuel G. Freedman and acclaimed filmmaker Mick Caouette for a program about Hubert Humphrey’s formative years as Minneapolis mayor, a tenure which culminated with his landmark speech on civil rights at the 1948 Democratic National Convention. 75 years later, Caouette and Freedman offer new insights on the critical role Humphrey—and his years as mayor—played in the fight for civil rights.

Light Up Princeton

Bring your family and friends on a short drive, through the beauty of the lights at Riverside Park in Princeton. Tune your radio to 93.1 FM and listen to Christmas music as you drive slowly through the park. The event is free; however, there will be volunteers on site collection non-perishable items for the Princeton Food Pantry as well as free will donations that will be split 50% to the volunteer organization, 25% to the Princeton Food Pantry and 25% to next year's Light Up Princeton event. This is a drive through event only. Please do not walk through the display.
