Join us on Instagram Live @northernclaycenter for a unique twist on another installment of this show-and-tell series, featuring ceramic artists Amanda Dobbratz and Liz Pechacek. This iteration of Looking and Learning will be held at Dobbratz’s home. The presenters will each share objects from their personal collections that have inspired and influenced their making or brought joy and new ways of seeing the world to their lives. This event will also provide an opportunity for these artists to share where they are at in their making journeys.

Winter is the season to share your curiosity and clay appreciation with those you love! We’ll have over 1000 new pots, sculptures, and even jewelry. You will find local artists, as well as those who hail from all over the US, and who represent a diverse range of cultures, races, identities, and lived experiences. Come enjoy the space and choose the work that connects with you, or let us know if you’d like some guidance. Every purchase helps us continue programming and financially supports the individual artists in the exhibition!

Arrowhead Concert Association: Orchid Quartet

Orchid Quartet is a powerhouse string quartet based in Los Angeles. The quartet consists of four highly sought-after string players who perform and tour with top artists and who regularly record for major record labels, video games, and film/television soundtracks. Members of the quartet have toured with Ariana Grande, Adele, Panic! at the Disco, Hans Zimmer, and Game of Thrones Live featuring Ramin Djawadi. From the stage to the studio, Orchid Quartet’s energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm are contagious, and the love of the music they play emanates to those around them.

Prepare to enter a time capsule to the golden era of American music featuring an electric lineup of your favorite Rock & Roll, Blues, Country and Jazz hits from the 1950’s. Piano maestro Jared Freiburg and his Vagabonds will be serving a healthy helping of memorable tunes by artists spanning anywhere from Elvis to Frank Sinatra. Jared was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and began playing piano at the age of five. Jared portrayed Jerry Lee Lewis in the touring production of Million Dollar Quartet.

After surviving his childhood growing up with nine sisters and one brother in Alabama, Willi moved to Minnesota to attend college and play football. With his stories about growing up in the south and acclimating to the cold of Minnesota, Willi gives a unique spin to life's everyday challenges by applying humor to them with relatable, non-offensive stories.
