#MostWonderfulTime HSO Winter Concert Series

The Winter Concerts will be held Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 PM in Brainerd, and Sunday, December 8 at 2:30 PM in Little Falls at the same locations. #MostWonderfulTime will feature Legacy Youth Chorale in a performance of Three Holiday Songs from Home Alone by John Williams, as well as other seasonal selections. The performance in Brainerd will feature students from the Brainerd High School Chamber Orchestra.

Conductor Chats are held 45 minutes prior to each performance.

In Spring 2025, the concerts will feature the winners of the upcoming Echo Kowalzek Youth Concerto Competition with the theme #Homegrown. Please submit applications by January 11th to be considered for auditions taking place on Saturday January 18th, see website for more details. Performances will be held in Little Falls on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 PM at Charles D. Martin Auditorium in Little Falls High School, and in Brainerd on Sunday, March 23 at 2:30 PM at Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts.

“Rising from the Ruins” Projection Performance

Local artist, Paul Herwig, presents Rising from the Ruins, a projection performance within the stunning architecture and walls of the Mill City Museum Ruin Courtyard, in the open air and under the stars. Pipestone Carving Demonstration with Alexander Lund

Alexander Lund is a pipestone carver from the Lower Sioux Agency who has been practicing his craft for over three years.

The Little Cottonwood River runs right by Jeffers Petroglyphs as it makes its way to the Minnesota River. The Dakota place name for the Little Cottonwood River is Imni-Za-Ka-Sa-Deca meaning to split, crack or grind. Dakota place names are highly descriptive. To Dakota Elders the name suggests quarrying or carving activities in the area.
