The New Standards started in 2005 as an off-shoot project between Minneapolis-based musicians and friends Chan Poling (piano), Steve Roehm (vibes), and John Munson (bass). Since then, TNS has grown into a globe-spanning adventure, filling theaters and clubs around the world. Additionally, they have created several albums, videos, cartoons, dance/theater projects, and ancillary gewgaws that have charmed and delighted faithful fans.

Cianna is Sarcastic and observant, she finds humor in everyday situations and loves sharing those stories with audiences. She has performed in clubs and theaters around the country, and hosts and produces concept shows in The Twin Cities.
