Blind Lake Connector and Loop

The Blind Lake Connector and Loop are an easy hop off the Soo Line North Trail. Wider trails provide a comfortable ride through a range of forest habitats as well as several remote lakes and ponds. Riders will find picnic areas and restrooms throughout the trail.

Blanket Flower Prairie SNA

Blanket Flower Prairie straddles the ecotone between the prairies to the west and the eastern deciduous forest. Hill's thistle (Minnesota special concern) and sky-blue aster are found here at the western edge of their range, while Hooker's oat-grass and blanket flower (both listed as Minnesota special concern species) are at their eastern most distribution. Dry prairie dominates the upper slopes of the rolling hills with mesic prairie in low areas interspersed with small groves of aspen.

Blaine Preserve SNA

This 63-acre preserve contains the best remaining example of a vast complex of wet prairies and rich fens that existed in association with the Anoka Sand Plain at the time of Minnesota's original land survey (circa 1850). Its biodiversity value is astounding: the site contains 13 species of rare plants (7 of which are state-endangered, 4 MN-threatened and 2 MN-special concern) and fully 12% of the species that comprise Minnesota's native flora, some of which have not been documented in the state in 100 years.
