56 Brewing

We have a core lineup of bold and session craft beers with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and using seasonal variations and infusions. Honey Wheet, Dark Chocolate Coconut Stout and Pilsner and IPA style beers. We utilize a barrel aged program to rotate in for select core and also seasonal brews. High quality craft beer produced at a lower volume in a micro-brewery allows us to focus on quality, consistency and the ability to rotate beer styles efficiently. Our focus is on community and beer lovers alike, highlighting the NE Minneapolis community and brewery culture.

5-8 Tavern & Grill - Maplewood

The 5-8 Tavern & Grill, located at the intersection of Minnehaha Ave E. and McKnight, was the first addition to the 5-8 family. Opening its doors in 2002, the first sister to the original 5-8 Club resembles the quaint feel of the Minneapolis location. This location hosts a pull tab booth as well as weekly bingo, making it a favorite neighborhood hangout. If you live east of the Twin Cities and want to sink your teeth into a famous 5-8 Juicy Lucy, this is the place for you.

5-8 Grill & Tap - West St. Paul

The 5-8 Grill & Tap, our newest location, opened its doors late-summer 2014. With a patio looking out onto South Robert Street, the 5-8 Grill & Tap adds an updated, modern feel to the "speakeasy" vibe of the original Minneapolis 5-8 Club location. This location also features a new menu with items like the Asian Chicken Salad and the Inside Out Brat Burger.

5-8 Grill & Bar - Champlin

The 5-8 Grill & Bar is the third addition to the 5-8 family. Located right across the street from Champlin Park High School, the 5-8 Grill & Bar opened in 2004 and has been warmly accepted into the community. Actively participating in many local charities and sports team sponsorships, trivia, bingo, and other weekly events make this spot not only a great place for an unbeatable burger, but also for a fun night out with friends and family.

5-8 Club - Minneapolis

The 5-8 Club originally opened in 1928 as a “speakeasy” and was widely known as the 58th Street Club, located out in the country and just adjacent to the new Wold-Chamberlain Airport. Combined with its location, the fact that the building had an underground garage made it a particularly desire-able “speak.” Cars, their trunks filled with bottles of illegal hooch packed in burlap bags, could pull right into the underground garage and the “goods” could be taken upstairs.
