Larry Gatlin is known for his rich falsetto singing style and for the unique pop-inflected songs he wrote and recorded in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of Gatlin's biggest hits include "Broken Lady," "All the Gold in California," "Houston (Means I'm One Day Closer to You)", "She Used to Be Somebody's Baby," and "Talkin' to the Moon." During this time, country music trended heavily towards slick pop music arrangements in a style that came to be known as Countrypolitan.
The Lanesboro Area Art Trail showcases the magic surrounding Lanesboro, as artists open the doors to their studios, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and welcome the public into their private workspaces. This self-guided tour through town and the region consists of 10 different stops where visitors can talk with artists and get a closer look at how they make their art. This workshop will focus on the use of watercolor to paint exciting impressionistic paintings. You paint from photographs and will explore the use of light and shadow to create interesting compositions and achieve dynamic results.
We will examine the fundamentals of watercolor painting to assure that all students are familiar with the techniques. Daily discussions and application of the principles and elements of design will be woven into your painting experience.
