Fall Beer and Wine Fest

Taste of the Trail events will be held in Lanesboro and Whalan on Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. with an opportunity to shop at the Lanesboro Farmers’ Market in Sylvan Park. Other vendors will be setting up near the visitor center on Milwaukee Road, beginning at 10 a.m. Enjoy live music throughout the day at Rockin’ the Trail in front of Iron Horse Outfitters, special tastings during the Fall Craft Beer and Wine Fest and take in the production of “Good People” at the Commonweal Theatre. In Whalan, enjoy music by the gazebo and some free samples of Norwegian flavors.

There will be a Level 2 option for this weekend (in addition to the Level 1). Please indicate on your registration if you are a returning customer (or an experienced 4WD driver) and interested in some of the more challenging trails in the park (ex: Lower Money Talks).

Face to Face: Our Hmong Community

Park Square inaugurates FACE TO FACE, partnering this season with the internationally renowned Ping Chong + Company, a New York leader in community-specific, interview-based theatre events. Using their own words, our neighbors become the storytellers, creating a theatre piece that reveals the vibrancy and resiliency of Hmong families in Saint Paul. FACE TO FACE is a new ongoing series celebrating cultures and addressing issues in our community.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Walking Tour

Explore the childhood haunts of F. Scott Fitzgerald with a 90-minute walking tour of the St. Paul neighborhood where he spent much of his youth.Tours are led by James J. Hill House guides.

Visitors will hear about Fitzgerald's early years, his relationship with his wife, Zelda, the impact of St. Paul on his writing, and his connections to the Hill family and other prominent neighbors. Guides will also discuss the importance of the neighborhood to other writers, like Sinclair Lewis, Patricia Hampl, and August Wilson.

Extravaganza at the Village of Yesteryear

SCHS held its first Extravaganza over 35 years ago to celebrate our heritage and to provide a venue to share with our friends and neighbors the crafts and skills of the Steele County community. Extravaganza draws thousands from the region to enjoy music, food and festivities on a Sunday afternoon.

Visitors can draw on the walls of the museum, discover a 20-foot-tall Dala horse and so much more as they explore the many rooms of the historic Turnblad Mansion – including some that will be open to the public for the first time in decades.

The Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant program supports the work of Minnesota ceramic artists at relatively early stages in their careers, as they accomplish short-term, specific objectives.

Everything's Coming Up Roses

Spring is here and the Bloomington Chorale is honoring the new season with popular springtime melodies. "Everything's Coming Up Roses" will be performed twice, on May 15 at 7:30 PM and on May 16 at 4:00 PM.

Entertainment from around the world! Three stages of music fill the city with multi-cultural sounds. Food and craft vendors line the streets of Walker. Family entertainment and interactive activities are held throughout the day.
