"The Green Book: Guide to Freedom" Film & Discussion

Learn about the history and legacy of Victor H. Green’s travel guide for African Americans, The Negro Motorist Green Book. This program will include a screening of the Smithsonian Channel documentary The Green Book: Guide to Freedom, followed by a discussion with Nieeta Presley about local establishments that were listed in the guide.

Food Traditions: Purim

Purim is a Jewish holiday of joy and feasting. Join hobbyist guest baker and J-Pride Program Coordinator for Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis Hunter Wengersky in the baking lab. Hunter will share their personal connection to the holiday and a Hamentashen making demonstration!

Annual Civil War Symposium

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Civil War Symposium at the Litchfield Opera House, 136 N Marshall Ave, Litchfield, MN. Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The theme for the day is “Perspectives on What This Cruel War Was Over" with speakers Dr. Chandra Manning, Dr. Stefan Lund, and Danelle Erickson.

Coppelia Ballet

Continental Ballet Company will present the ballet Coppelia at the Bloomington Center for the Arts. This delightful ballet involves a doll-maker, mistaken identity and true love. It is filled with beautiful classical dancing as well as a touch of humor. It is a fun ballet for the whole family.
