Goldstein Museum of Design

Goldstein Museum of Design (GMD), part of the University of Minnesota's College of Design, advances the understanding and appreciation of design through exhibitions, research, preservation, and education. GMD presents exhibitions in two locations: the McNeal gallery, open to visitors six days a week, and the Rapson Hall galleries, open seven days a week. The McNeal Research Center for study of the collection is open weekdays by appointment.

Golden Eagle Lodge - Resort, Campground, & Nordic Ski Center

Golden Eagle Lodge is the only resort & resident on the quiet shores of Flour Lake. We offer 10 lakefront cabins and 9 private campsites, each with water/electric hookups. Located approximately halfway up the Gunflint Trail, north of Grand Marais, outdoor adventures can begin right at your front door.

All our cabins are modern housekeeping cabins, each with a fireplace, deck and/or porch, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, and a private dock. All cabins are spaced for privacy. Pet friendly cabins available.

Golden Eagle Golf Club

Golden Eagle Golf Club provides 18 championship holes to challenge every aspect of your game. A large practice green with practice bunker and driving range are available to help fine tune your swing. A fully stocked pro shop and restaurant are here to help you get ready for a wonderful round of golf.

Golden Eagle is located north of the Brainerd Lakes Area, in beautiful Fifty Lakes. The course is designed in harmony with its majestic north woods environment. You will find Golden Eagle as welcoming and inviting as our natural Minnesota surroundings.

Gold Portage WMA

The Gold Portage Wildlife Management Area has 24 acres of northern boreal forest, 900 acres of wetland. Every spring and fall the site is inhabited by migrating waterfowl. Just a few of the wildlife to watch are bald eagles, double-crested cormorants, great blue herons, and American black ducks. Mammals include mink, deer, moose, and black bears. It is highly encouraged that this area be experienced by boat or canoe. Access can be gained by water on Rainy Lake.

Gold Mine Camp

Gold Mine Resort is located on the 49 mile long Vermilion River, nestled between two portage "waterfalls" in the wilderness between Lake Vermilion and Crane Lake. Gold Mine has access to approximately 17 miles of navigable river system. This makes for a privacy plus location. People, other than Gold Mine guests, are rarely seen. Private property in this area is limited and public access is difficult. Gold Mine offers fully modern cabins. We have exceptional bear, grouse, and duck hunts.
