Fall Flower Show (Part 1) at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory

While many Minnesota gardens are winding down for the winter season, the Sunken Garden at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory will be in full bloom! The Fall Flower Show features a variety of chrysanthemums. The colors for the show will be red/maroon, gold/yellow and purple. Swiss chard and chilly chili peppers will serve to accentuate the red and yellow chrysanthemums. *2019 Description

Nisswa Fall Festival and Smokin' Hot BBQ

Nisswa ushers in fall with the 46th annual Nisswa Fall Festival. The 15th annual Smokin' Hot BBQ Challenge is part of this annual fall tradition. Start your day with a pancake breakfast. You can participate in the medallion hunt and compete in the bean bag tournament. Kids congregate by the turtle track parking lot for activities that include bounce houses and games. The tantalizing smell of barbecued ribs wafts through town as teams compete in the Smokin' Hot BBQ Challenge. After ribs are judged, the public gets it's chance to taste the creations.

Celebrate the fall season with family activities including a prairie maze, petting zoo, tractor wagon rides, and much more! FREE! All ages.

Fall Fest in the Fort

Celebrate Halloween at Historic Fort Alexandria. This community event will be held outside the Runestone Museum in Fort Alexandria from 3 pm-6 pm, Thursday, October 31st. Free to all ages!

Activities include: make your own edible treat station, crystal ball readings, Viking games, spooky crafts for kids, a special Halloween Scavenger hunt, and more! If you haven't had enough candy from trick-or-treating Downtown Alexandria, additional treats and cider will be provided.

Remember to dress for the weather as this event will be primarily outdoors.
