Do you prefer the warm hues, designed to evolve and carry memory, of Beck’s wood-fired pots? Perhaps you crave the subtle soda-fired surface playing off of the strong forms and thoughtful textures of Kelleher’s pots. Fasching

Fasching is an old carnival tradition that originated in the European Alps to chase away winter. Each year, strips of cloth are strung across downtown streets in the German peasant tradition, and the “Narren,” masked characters in colorful costumes, walk the streets inviting people to the party. Held at the Best Western Plus, Fasching includes music, food and dancing, and costumes are encouraged. It's sponsored by The Concord Singers and since 2006 it has expanded to include "Capture the Mayor" on Friday by "The Narren".

Farm & Home Show

Windom’s Annual Farm & Home Show is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at the Windom Area High School. The doors will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The show is sponsored by the Windom Area Chamber of Commerce’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

We want you to be part of this day recognizing area agriculture and home-related businesses!

Family Discovery Day: Spin a Yarn, Weave a Rainbow

Even in our modern life, woven cloth and spun fibers are everywhere, and we often don't think about them much. Come learn about this fascinating example of human invention. Try some hands-on projects yourself and meet some of the enthusiastic people who still practice traditional handmade methods. We hope you'll get inspired to "try this at home"!
