Enjoy a Minnesota winter with an evening at the Outing Lodge.
Follow an luminary lit snowshoe walk through Pine Point Park; then enjoy outdoor bonfires. Retire indoors for comfort food of Outing Lodge's famous - hearty pastry puff chicken pot pie. Make s'mores afterwards in front of the Lodge's 7 foot fireplace.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. as the moon begins to rise. The night's activities will include hiking a 1-mile segment of the Platte River Trail, which will be lit with luminaries. When you need to warm up, join us at the bonfire and enjoy hot drinks and refreshments provided by the Friends of Crane Meadows NWR.
Trails will be lit by candle luminaries and participants are encouraged to hike. There will be a short loop for snowshoeing and a longer one for skiing. If no snow, hiking will be encouraged.
The annual hike will include luminaries along trails connecting the Charles A. Lindbergh Historic Site and the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum. Guests can drop in at any time during the event and hike whatever distance is comfortable. Snowshoes are welcome if conditions allow. Both museums will be open with free admission for guests to warm up and grab a refreshment.

Luminaries will light your way as you cross-country ski or snowshoe on the Nature Center trails. All Ages. This event is FREE and open to the public. Ski and snowshoe rentals available for $3/member or $5/non-member. Pre-registration is not required for this event.

In October during the Wild Turkey Fest Celebration, and again in December during Winter Wonderland, Caledonia hosts a fun hot air balloon rally. Balloons launch at least three times during the weekend (weather-permitting). Balloon rides are available for purchase, as well as awarded via a raffle drawing that is usually selected in October. Even just watching the event is an experience!

This is the only event of the year where visitors can taste, and purchase, Winehaven's classics that have been aging in the cellar for years.
